Iration: Falling

Tuesday, 27 September 2016 by childofGod778

Last go around, I introduced you to one of the two groups that I got really into when it comes to Reggae music.  This week, I present the other one that I was made aware of.  Like the last group, this one has so many great hits, and I have a bunch of their music on my playlist. Easy going Reggae music that gets you in the groove to bring out the Rastafarian within. - 778 0-

Making A Mission Statement (Part 4)

Monday, 26 September 2016 by childofGod778

Well, we're back at it this week (all this month, actually), and we're continuing in a thought about making your own mission statement for your life.  We've been going through the chapter "What’s Your Mission? How Not to Waste Your Life” in the book "What's Best Next" by Matt Perman....  A book that I highly recommend because of all the value chalked full in it.  So let's pick up where we left off last week.  And if you haven't done so yet, you'll want to read the first three parts starting at Part 1. Creating Your Mission How d...

Gem Mining With The Kiddos

Friday, 23 September 2016 by childofGod778

Took an opportunity to take my kids to a gem mine, and give them the geological experience they've been craving (not really).  But they did have a great time, and we got some great gems out of it all! We got a bunch of really cool gems in our large bucket, and the kids had a fun time digging and sifting for them.  Discovering new things is always a win. - 778 -

Letting Go Of Fate

Thursday, 22 September 2016 by childofGod778

As my birthday passed a couple days ago, I got to spend this week doing a lot of reflecting.  I think we've all gone through so many stages of life, growing from one stage to another.  I have grown up in so many ways, even as the days become years.  One of those stages that I've moved past (many many years ago) was letting go of the idea that "fate" is a thing.  Don't get me wrong, there's certainly place for "coincidence", "inevitability", and so on.  But I came to understand that the actual notion of fate was one where I became more awar...

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony & Akon: I Tried

Tuesday, 20 September 2016 by childofGod778

So today I celebrate my birthday, and I want to share a song with you that is not new, but I just came across it recently.  It's a great beat and a good melody; plus I'm a fan of Akon's voice, and Bone Thugs' style.  So to see them together in collaboration for this song was a big win.  Some days I feel like I can really relate to the struggle of trying so hard, but it doesn't work out well; so enjoy this song if you feel you can relate. Two smooth sets of harmonies merge beautifully in a sound that makes you know the struggle. - 7...

Making A Mission Statement (Part 3)

Monday, 19 September 2016 by childofGod778

Let's not waste much time on intro here, but get right into the continuation of the series at hand.  You'll want to catch Part 1, and Part 2 (if you haven't done so).  They are the first parts of the chapter that we're looking at, called "What’s Your Mission? How Not to Waste Your Life" in the book "What's Best Next" by Matt Perman.  Here's more from that chapter on taking control of your life by making a mission statement. Four principles For Creating Mission Statements That Work Though we don’t define our own purpose, it is our...
